Connected Driver Advisory System

The ultimate eco system. Our C-DAS is signalling connected without the need for ETCS or a Traffic Management System, providing dynamic, real-time advice for a more efficient railway.

Benefits

Our award-winning Connected Driver Advisory System is fully signalling connected, designed to operate on both TMS and non-TMS routes, seamlessly switching between the two in real-time dependent on the route to provide a continuous stream of real-time updates and in-trip advice to the driver.

Integration into the TMS system.
Signalling connected.
Real-time information is supplied to the driver.
Designed in Great Britain.
Bespoke design accommodating diverse space envelopes.
Delivers vital route and train status information to the driver.

Product Information

At KeTech we’re always looking to the future, that’s why we adopt a cloud-first strategy so we can offer agility, scale and constant development and upgrades. Real-time data and data analysis are at the heart of our Connected Driver Advisory System (C-DAS), this requires a high level of integration which is done best with cloud technology.

C-DAS is often mistaken for a Stand-alone Driver Advisory System (S-DAS/DAS), unlike these systems, KeTech’s system uses reliable signalling-derived information supplemented by Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) information to provide real-time contextual and accurate driver advice. An energy-efficient speed profile which considers timing points, line speeds, speed restrictions, and the train’s characteristics and capabilities is advised to the driver. This allows the system and both the driver and operator to achieve common goals such as meeting the timetable, reducing costs, reducing energy usage – electric or diesel.

Real-time changes from the rail network are processed immediately and updated advice presented to the driver. C-DAS draws from its numerous connections and data feeds to deliver clear, contextually aware information to the driver avoiding confusion and ensuring all advice remains current.

KeTech’s C-DAS algorithms have been developed from many years of research, train simulation knowledge and experience in industry leading real-time data systems. Our base DAS algorithms use performance characteristics unique to each train fleet – torque, acceleration, weight/loading profile etc. which is combined with infrastructure data and track geometry. KeTech’s C-DAS is unique as it fully integrates real-time signalling data along with other industry data sources to provide the best driver advice available.

The system is designed to operate on both TMS and non-TMS routes, seamlessly switching between the two in real-time dependent on the route to provide a continuous stream of real-time updates and in-trip advice to the driver. The system comes complete with comprehensive reporting tools, collecting data, identifying trends to assist timetable optimisation, support driver evaluation and reports on C-DAS operation.

KeTech specifically designed the system with flexible deployment options; C-DAS can be integrated into existing PIS (provided as a software-only solution) fitted to new trains or installed on the operator’s devices, fixed or mobile.

KeTech’s C-DAS is proven in real-world situations and has the potential of saving operators up-to 20%* on rolling stock fuel/energy costs without the need for ETCS or a Traffic Management System.

Universal Information System

KeTech's Universal Information System (UIS) transforms systems into smart systems. KeTech's UIS leverages the use of existing systems and sensors to allows mass automated data collection and analysis to create the distribution of useful, intelligent information through new channels; directly increasing connectivity of the environment and enhancing customer experience.
Real-time on train Passenger Information System (PIS)

Passenger Information System

Customer experience was at the forefront of the development of our Passenger Information System (PIS). Our fully configured PIS combines real-time journey information and infotainment, providing contextual information specific to each route on a single platform.

Driver Only Operated CCTV

KeTech's Driver Only Operated CCTV provides a guards eye view of the full length of the train and platform interface. With an ever increasing emphasis on safety, KeTech created a DOO system with ultra low latency images to guarantee zero possibility of picture freeze. The system is designed to SIL2 and is both industry and TfL approved, providing drivers with the knowledge that they can depart safely.

Customer Information System

Our Customer Information Systems provide rich real-time data, the information presented is fully-intuitive making it understandable for a broad range of customers. Our CIS takes into account the different scenarios and needs and provides additional channels, such as an app and station PA, to communicate the correct information through the relevant channel.
