KeTech is selected for Porterbrook’s Innovation Hub

For the first time ever, Porterbrook has announced it will host an Innovation Hub. The static train will be a unique platform for industry innovators to display new ideas for rail efficiency, passenger comfort and general service improvements.

The Innovation Hub has been created by Porterbrook to provide a “real train environment” that SMEs can use to best display their ideas and new technologies. The re-purposed four-car Class 319 train will welcome its first visitors at Rail Live 2019 in Long Marsden on the 19th-20th June and will remain at the site as a base for demonstrations and customer visits for the months after the event.

In order to ensure that they’re hosting the most cutting-edge, passenger-focused innovations, Porterbrook held an open competition for SMEs to submit their latest and greatest ideas. KeTech entered its “Connected Train” proposal for better informed journeys and is proud to have been awarded a position on the Innovation Hub.

KeTech will demonstrate the ability to combine all available data on and around the train/station environment and how it applies intelligence to deliver the most appropriate and beneficial information for the passenger’s journey – exactly when they need it, in a context-aware manner that delivers the very best customer experience.

KeTech’s Passenger Information Systems are already helping Train Operators significantly improve overall customer satisfaction and raise their NRPS scores to prove it. It is the only dynamic, truly real-time PIS on the market and now KeTech has harnessed the ability to combine all on-board and wayside information to provide the most comprehensive, fully connected, Universal Information System. (UIS®) – delivering game-changing end-to-end journey information to customers and operators.
