An East Midlands Police Force has predicted  a £64,000 saving in a single drug screening operation by using a KeTech DrugScanner. The Force has been using  a DrugScanner for many months and has performed extensive parallel trials. As a result, their forensic submissions procedure has been changed so that forensic samples are now pre-screened using DrugScanner and only a selected number of the positive result forensic screening samples are sent off for confirmatory forensic testing. This pre-screening ensures that the minimum cost of forensic analysis is incurred whilst achieving the required results for prosecution purposes.
