                           Through Bulkhead Support Contract

Following a competitive tender KeTech Systems Ltd has been awarded the Mk16NM Support Contract by the MoD. This contract involves new build, repair and support tasks for these critical items over a period of 3 years, with options to extend for up to an additional 3 years.

Due to effective obsolescence in some of the key sub-assemblies of the Mk16NM, innovation was invited as part of the tender.

To quote the CBRN IPT “KeTech Systems Ltd was awarded this contract by demonstrating a cost effective innovative solution to our demanding requirements. We look forward to working with them on this contract

KeTech is pleased to have won this contract and look forward to further demonstrating to the MoD the innovation and commitment to success that is at the heart of KeTech’s approach to business.

KeTech gets you connected.

This month sees the launch of KeTech’s Ke3G product, successfully demonstrated earlier this year at InfraRail, and developed to meet the ever changing needs of the railway environment.

The KeTech Ke3G product enables Wide Area connectivity to multiple locations as a flexible and secure alternative to traditional wired solutions – including 3rd party broadband connections, trackside circuits or proprietary bearer connections.

Ke3G is a network portal into a station, offering long line wireless communications from a control centre direct to the station infrastructure, to which KeTech offers a managed service with this system, tailored to meet the specific requirements and throughput of a station, minimising high network charges for under-utilised bandwidth usage. One or all of a stations retail communications system can be connected via the Ke3G system, with only one unit required to be installed at each station.

Based on a 3G router, and contained within a purpose designed enclosure the Ke3G unit requires a 12VDC power supply and provides an Ethernet port for connection to local equipment.

Ke3G operates by establishing a permanent data connection and can be configured to establish a secure IPSEC tunnel between the remote Ke3G router, and the control systems distributing the data.

This innovative solution provides IP connectivity over 3G/GSM wireless networks. Ideal for those networks where physical connectivity (ADSL / trackside cabling, etc.) is problematic or unavailable, allowing 24/7 operation in unmanned environments due to the remote management, configuration & logging.

One of the key Benefits of Ke3G  is that it is a flexible alternative, to traditional wired systems. Ke3G  extends the WAN without the need for trackside circuits, or similar cabled solutions, It can also be sold as a back up solution for stations of strategic importance.

Rapid provision enables Ke3G to be immediately deployed, works “out of the box” and is designed to meet the needs of challenging environments.  Ke3G is Reliable and robust, which in turn means the Whole Life Cost of Ke3G is a lower alternative, and eliminates possibility of cable theft affecting system performance.

KeTech is pleased to announce our double win at the Nottingham Evening Post Business Awards 2012.

KeTech was shortlisted for both the Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets-sponsored International Trade Award and the New College Nottingham-sponsored Apprentice of the Year Award, and on the night KeTech scooped both awards!

CEO Steve Berg and Electrical Technician Matthew Betts attended the awards and Matthew is delighted with his win of the Apprentice of the Year Award. He hopes this will fuel his goal of becoming a graduate engineer, within KeTech.

Steve accepted the International Trade Award and said “I am so proud that KeTech’s success has been recognised with this award. It is a just reward for the effort of all the people within KeTech who have made the Company the success story it is. On top of which, Matthew winning the Apprentice of the Year Award justifies the continued investment in our people. What a great result!”

KeTech would like to thank the Nottingham Evening Post for hosting such a superb night and will continue to deliver the high standards throughout the forthcoming year and ahead.

Press Release

 22 May 2012

Government Minister seeks out KeTech

The Minister of State for Transport, the Rt Hon Theresa Villiers MP made a point of visiting the KeTech stand at this year’s Infrarail Exhibition, held at the NEC in Birmingham. The Minister had opened the exhibition with her keynote speech emphasising the need for capital investment that would lead to operating cost reductions and an improved service to passengers.

Following her speech, she headed for the KeTech stand to meet KeTech’s CEO, Mr Steve Berg. The Minister and Mr Berg discussed how KeTech’s product development programmes were an example of how innovation leads to improvements in Passenger Safety and Passenger Information whilst improving the Cost Effectiveness of investment by rail operators. The Minister was particularly interested in KeTech’s KeAddress, KeInform, Ke3G, Multi-Modal and Platform-to Train system offerings.

KeAddress is a Long Line Public Address system, providing a modern ‘App’ based look and feel to a traditional railway retail communications system. Offering central control of live, scheduled and pre-recorded audio announcements to a group of stations, line of route or Train Operating Company; the first system of its type to be installed in the UK.

KeInform provides real time information on train services to the passengers on the station, offering central control operators the ability to monitor, manage and alter services remotely, direct to a station display. KeInform is the first networked Customer Information System to be fed from the centralised national train information database ‘Darwin’ and to provide real time data into the same national system.

Ke3G is a network portal into a station, offering long line wireless communications from a control centre direct to the station infrastructure. KeTech offer a managed service with this system, tailored to meet the specific requirements and throughput of a station, minimising high network charges for under-utilised bandwidth usage. One or all of a stations retail communications system can be connected via the Ke3G system, with only one unit required to be installed at each station.

Multi-modal: Integrating KeAddress and KeInform to provide both audio and visual real time information to a range of transport modes, the KeTech multi-modal system allows passengers to plan and complete their journeys via a number of transport modes. Already installed at Bus and Rail Interchanges, in shopping centres and in retail outlets, the KeTech multi-modal system links rail, bus, and tram real time arrival and departure information and presents it to the users through a variety of systems including information kiosks and summary screens.

Platform to Train: The only successful providers of Platform to Train video systems in the UK, KeTech’s system offers a safe method of departure to the drivers by providing real time video from the platform cameras into the cabs.

Introducing KeAddress - the NEW KeTech APP BASED Long Line Public Address (LLPA) System

KeTech has launched the new and innovative ‘App’ based Long Line Public Address (LLPA) System, KeAddress, that offers significant benefits for control centre Operators and therefore better information for passengers.

KeAddress uses an ‘App’ based approach that is quicker and easier to operate. Maintaining the value of existing investments has been central to the development of KeAddress. Interfaces to new and existing Station equipment allow users to take advantage of the new system by replacing the other old fashioned control systems, without having to replace existing station hardware.

The ‘App’ based screens make KeAddress intuitive to use at all levels. Operators can monitor PA announcements at one or more stations, edit existing messages, record new announcements, schedule broadcasts and pre-program volume levels for selected messages and times of announcements on a station by station basis.

KeAddress has already been very successfully installed at the Northern Rail Control Room at York to great acclaim by the Operators there.
