Keynet II Systems
Go beyond MPT1327 with Keynet II
Keynet II is Key Radio Systems' enhanced MPT1327 system, with expanded functionality. This enables us to incorporate additional benefits for particular solutions whilst still maintaining compatibility with standard MPT1327 mobiles and hand portable terminals. The Keynet II features can be configured into our mobile terminals and base station equipment through a combination of hardwiring and software. This delivers:
-
Multiple control channels per site
-
Segregation of traffic so that specific channels can be dedicated for emergency use
-
Support for Automatic Vehicle Location, telemetry and other data systems without the need for additional specialised equipment
-
Simple expansion of channels, sites and network interconnections
System Capability
Keynet II is modular in design for easy installation and upgradeability from single through to multi-site applications. It provides local, wide area or nationwide radio to radio calls, and if required interconnection with public and/or private telephone networks. Radio base station equipment provides a number of repeater radio channels each utilising MPT1327 protocols with management from a Trunking System Controller. The system architecture delivers exceptional capacity: for multi-site and long distance operations, we can provide the ultimate functionality of up to 255 sites, each offering 24 radio channels.
Best For Data Communications
As well as Keynet II, Key Radio Systems' unrivalled understanding of MPT1327 has enabled us to develop the Key Enhanced Data Gateway which optimises handling of data-hungry telemetry applications. The open standard Key Data Protocol gives software developers the tools to interface their applications easily with our hardware and benefit from all the advanced GPS and SCADA functionality.
Communications Node
Each Keynet II site can be equipped with a Programmable Audio Switch (2Mb/s PCM digital multiplexer). This provides a Communications Node which allows switching and routing for flexible and efficient inter-site communication. Incorporating PABX/PSTN circuits and alternative routing ensures a robust, resilient communications infrastructure.
-
Each Keynet II site with a Programmable Audio Switch can be configured as a stand-alone communications centre or base station
-
Simple Keynet II sites can be integrated as satellite sites linked to a main site
-
The Keynet II system can be interfaced with existing PMR systems (operating in any frequency band)
-
Modular design enables easy expansion
Channels
Control Channel - a minimum of one channel at each site is assigned as a Control Channel (CC), which employs FFSK signalling at 1200 baud to mobile radio units for call processing transactions: registration, call requests and passing short data messages.
Traffic Channels - other channels are used for voice and data communications.
Inter-site Circuits
The system may interconnect sites at simple telephone circuit level, 64 kb/s digital circuits or 2 Mb/s (G703) links.
-
Multiple circuits can be used depending on the system capacity required
-
2 Mb/s circuits can be interconnected to provide drop, insert and alternative routing features
